Some else is going to Crazyville and it ain't Britney Spears
Just like that famous basketball saying: White boys can't jump; the same can be applied to rap.
Side note: I was never a fan of Eminem and I still laugh at Marky Mark's music career in the 90's (Yes, Mark Wahlberg will always be Marky Mark to me despite the Oscar Nom nod).
Lesser men (white men) have tried their hand in this; men with little to lose and no self-respect to compromise. So their failure in this arena is not such a public debacle. However Joaquin Pheonix is a different matter altogether.
The reverberating "WHAT!!!!!!!!" that resounded in my head when I read
this article is not an exaggeration. When I heard that he was going to leave acting for music I thought he was going to do, at the very least, some rock and roll. Maybe a little country. But rap? RAP?!! RAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My theory is that he may have vacationed in the old family commune a little too long and drank all the electric kool-aid. No one in their right mind would do this. 'Cause dude this is just so wrong.
I would also like to say that Casey Affleck is a major enabler. How could he let his buddy do this? Some friend.
